Kids4Peace Event: From Sheikh Jarrah to New York City: Stories from Jerusalem

Ameinu is proud to co-sponsor this Kids4Peace event! Join Suma Qawasmi and Ittay Flescher to hear their stories about the challenges, fears, and dreams they encounter through their work together at Kids4Peace—an interfaith movement that brings together youth from East and West Jerusalem.

The event will be held at B’nai Jeshurun – 257 W 88th St. on December 15th at 7:00pm-8:30pm , this is an in-person event but it will be available via livestream on Youtube.

About Kids4Peace:

Founded in Jerusalem in 2002, Kids4Peace is a global interfaith youth movement, dedicated to ending conflict and  inspiring hope in divided societies around the world.

Through a network of local chapters, Kids4Peace operates award-winning dialogue, leadership and social action programs for over 500 youth in Jerusalem, North America and Europe

We believe youth have the power to bring new questions and new answers to the struggle for peace and justice.

Suma Qawasmi is a Palestinian Muslim and the Community Manager at K4P. She has a BA in English Literature and Business from Birzeit University. Having grown up in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, she is active in the legal struggle to protect her home. Suma considers herself a social person who likes to meet new people, learn about others and explore different cultures and backgrounds.

Ittay Flescher is a Jewish Israeli and the Education Director at K4P.  Before moving to Jerusalem in 2018, Ittay was a high school teacher in Melbourne for 15 years where he specialized in facilitating interfaith dialogue and identity-building programs for teenagers.
