This spring, we’re inviting you to join us in our study tour to Israel and Palestine – virtually! We are thrilled to be joined by co-sponsors Habonim Dror Camping Association, Habonim Dror North America and Ameinu Canada.
We are currently working with our friends and partners in Israel to create an exciting program that includes a unique, interactive look at Israeli society and politics. We will meet social activists, artists, politicians and scholars! The tour will include four meetings, over four Sundays this spring; April 25, May 2, May 23, June 6, along with some mid-week events. WHAT’S IN THE PROGRAM?
ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN CONFEDERATION AND THE TWO STATE SOLUTION: We will hear from experts on the difficulty of finding a path to peace and discuss possible solutions that meet the national determination needs of both peoples.
SETTLEMENTS AND THE OCCUPATION: Together with our friends from Peace Now we will watch a new 40 minute film entitled “Land of Outposts in Samaria” which is a guided tour led by the head of Peace Now’s Settlement Watch. We will learn about the affect that settlements expansion has on the lives of the Palestinians and discuss it in smaller groups.
THE “MIZRACHI THING”:
Why and how do Mizrachi novelists, poets, musicians, and TV shows celebrate, mourn, and rage about the Mizrachi experience in Israel? This hard-hitting and inspiring workshop led by Robbie Gringas introduces a range of brilliant artists telling their challenging stories in the most engaging ways possible. Includes tastes of Shemi Zarchin, Adi Kessar, Teapacks, R. Haim Louk, Zaguri Empire, and more.

SOCIAL ACTIVISM: We will take a virtual tour in Dror Israel’s Kibbutz Eshbal and learn about their important work. Then we will “visit” the Urban Kibbutz in Haifa and check out how they supported their community during the days of COVID.
ONLINE JAFFA TOUR WITH BEIT SYSTEM ALI:
A historical-artistic-identity journey that goes through 5,000 years, five neighborhoods, five languages and countless sources of inspiration. The tour combines the history of the city of Jaffa in its 5,000 years of existence with a discussion of the conflictual issues of the city in recent decades through textual and musical works performed on site.
