On February 24, Ameinu, the largest grassroots progressive Zionist organization in North America, became the newest member of the Jewish Social Justice Roundtable. “Building on the 100 year plus history of activism of our predecessors in the Labor Zionist Movement, Ameinu is proud to be putting our values into action seeking peace, justice and economic opportunity for Israel and all of the peoples of the world,” declared Kenneth Bob, Ameinu’s National President. “Ameinu’s commitment to making the world better for Jews and non-Jews alike is central to our values as Zionists and progressives. Our association with the Jewish Social Justice Roundtable will strengthen our engagement with grassroots Jewish activists across North America, Israel and the globe,” Bob added.

The Jewish Social Justice Roundtable is a network of 27 Jewish organizations working to elevate social justice to the center of Jewish life and to advance an explicitly Jewish framework in the pursuit of social justice. Among the key activities of group members are organizing, advocacy, service learning and education at the local, state, national and international levels.

“Ameinu is excited to be joining this coalition of dedicated Jewish activists and to be participating in collective action for our Jewish community’s core goals of economic and social justice,” said Gideon Aronoff, Ameinu’s CEO. “We look forward to bringing our long history of partnership with the Israeli social justice community to bear on our work with the Roundtable, and to joining with these new partners to fulfill Ameinu’s wide-ranging Economic and Social Justice Goals both domestically and internationally. Together we can have a powerful impact on fighting poverty and inequality, promoting labor rights and safe working conditions, welcoming immigrants and protecting refugees, and making the promise of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) a reality.”
